I have been in this profession as an artist for over 40 years and have attended countless seminars and workshops, but never one more organized and well executed as Jeremy Sutton’s workshops. I have had the pleasure of studying under Jeremy on at least six different occasions over a span of ten years. He is a credit to his profession as an artist. His enthusiasm for the whole art experience is contagious.

Each and every time Jeremy contacted me regarding a new workshop, the information was always well organized. He gave a detailed description of what the workshop would cover along with the sign up information. Upon attending, I received a syllabus detailing each day’s goals and objectives and an abundance of art information to expand my learning experience. I knew beyond a doubt that Jeremy did not take for granted his attendee’s sacrifice of time and money necessary for the workshop.

Needless to say, when I received information about an opportunity to attend one of his workshops that included the annual Gatsby outing, I began to make plans so as not to miss out on this once in a lifetime experience. As always, Jeremy had done an excellent job detailing what this event entailed. All participants were encouraged to dress in appropriate attire that would be in keeping with that time period. What an enchanting experience,as we were driven in a vintage car, listening to Jazz music, winding down a breath-taking drive. It was reminisce of a bygone time. Wow, what an experience!

One of the images I photographed that day and later was able to paint received a very distinguished award, the SEPPA Award 2010. I will be forever grateful to Jeremy. Studying with Jeremy literally has changed my life forever.

Roxy, Shelley and I all had an absolutely wonderful time taking part in the Gatsby Workshop. It was wonderful to have the experience of the Gatsby Picnic. It was so well organized, there was so much to see. Everyone seemed to go to town with their dressing up, setting up their picnic spots etc. It was truly a day where we could get wonderful photographs that we would never have been able to get had we not attended the picnic. What was also so cool was that everyone was so keen to be photographed, so you did not feel at all uncomfortable walking around with your camera . I also loved being able to photograph those beautiful old cars in such a wonderful setting. I really felt as if I was on a stage set that was begging to be painted! You and Peggy also did a great job of organizing the food and the table. It was really fun.

As far as the painting in the classes went afterwards, we couldn't have had better material to choose from for our paintings. You and Peggy are both very generous with your knowledge of both traditional art and digital based techniques. We learned a lot and had a great time doing it. You have a great studio space in which to hold these workshops. It is all very professionally run, but without losing the 'spirit of fun'. I loved our 'little graduation ceremony'. That was a cool touch.

The whole workshop was a fantastic experience and one which Roxy and I often talk about 3 years later. One of the reasons I came back to San Francisco with my family this year is because I had such a great time there.
