Dallas Painter Workshop (Full)Fran Reisner Studio, Dallas, Texas Level: Beginner - Intermediate August 19 - 20, 2008Registration FormWhat to BringFran Reisner Studio: GoogleMapAn Introduction to Jeremy’s Expressive Approach to Creating Paintings from Photographs Using Corel Painter XWhat You'll LearnThis intensive hands-on, bring-your-own-computer, workshop introduces you to a world of unparalleled creative freedom. In this class you will explore ways to transform your photographs into paintings using state-of-the-art digital painting tools. You will learn a combination of technical and artistic skills that will open the doors to you fully expressing yourself on the digital canvas. Each day has a specific theme that is addressed through a combination of demonstration/presentation by myself, hands-on exercises and project work where each student creates artwork and practices the principles and techniques demonstrated. The themes include systems, organization and optimization; loosening up your paintings through use of the "muck up" under-painting technique; selectively refining your image and adding detail and contrasts; and enlivening your imagery through use of color. I teach an open-minded, improvisational, outside the box, approach to transforming your digital photographs that will stretch your image-making muscles and allow your creativity to flow. This seminar is a wonderful opportunity for you to stretch yourself creatively on every level. I take a thorough methodical approach to building up your knowledge and understanding of Corel Painter X, balancing the technical with the artistic, giving you hands-on project work where you try out the demonstrated techniques on an image of your own. The project work affords you the time to integrate new information and hone your skills. The small class size, limited to no more than twelve students maximum, ensures every student receives individual one-on-one attention. Take advantage of this rare “Sutton in Dallas” opportunity to enjoy a two day immersion in the wonderful world of digital painting with Corel Painter Master Jeremy Sutton. In this course, Jeremy’s first in Dallas, you will learn how to set up your Wacom tablet and Corel Painter X for optimum creativity and efficient work flow. You'll learn how Jeremy approaches painting from photographs to create expressive painterly artworks. In his lively and enthusiastic instruction Jeremy mixes in-depth technical know-how with traditional art training. This class will propel you forward in your creative explorations and expand what you can offer your portrait clients.
