Painter 7 to
IX Conversion
Jeremy Sutton
My earlier DVD tutorial, Painter
Creativity for Wedding and Portrait Photographers, was created using
Painter 7. Since that time Painter has been revised and the latest version
is Corel Painter IX. All the techniques taught on my DVDs are applicable
in Painter IX, just as in Painter 7. Having said that I do recommend you
get my newest DVD set Painter
IX Simplified for Photographers, which has all new artwork and some
fresh techniques too.
I’ve summarized
below the main changes that will help you translate my DVD instructions
for Painter IX.

The interface has not changed significantly between Painter X and Painter 11 so you can easily apply the lessons from all my earlier materials when using Corel Painter 11. Likewise my PaintboxJ Painter 11 tutorials can all be easily applied in earlier versions of Painter. I do strongly recommend upgrading to Painter 11 if you currently have an earlier version. The newest Painter is the best yet. It is significantly faster than earlier versions and includes a whole new class of wonderful brushes (the Hard Media brushes).
Hands-on Training
There's no substitute for hand-on training. Take a class and enjoy
the fastest and most effective way to learn Painter and develop your artistic
and creative skills.
